Ethan Allen Hotel Dream Wedding Giveaway!

It’s simple - We want to know about you two - and why you should be the recipients of a glamorous free wedding at the Ethan Allen Hotel. Brainstorm with your partner and write a 1000-word essay about yourself; judges will award a couple who clearly shows the state of their current economic hardships, their love for each other and strong partnership.

The winner will receive the following Dream Wedding Package:

Dream Wedding Giveaway contest runs from 10/1/09 to 3/31/10. Essays will be reviewed and winner chosen by independent panel established by Ethan Allen Hotel. Wedding Reception date will be awarded, confirmed and take place based upon available dates at the Ethan Allen Hotel between the period of 7/1/2010 and 6/30/2011. Dream Wedding Giveaway Package is valued at $50,000.

Ethan Allen Hotel Dream Wedding Giveaway Rules:
  1. The Ethan Allen Hotel – Danbury, Connecticut (the “Hotel”) is giving away a fabulous “Dream Wedding” and you and your intended have a chance to win! To enter, write, in one thousand words or less, why you and your intended deserve to be the one lucky couple to receive a Dream Wedding Package courtesy of the Hotel and other participating providers of great wedding services as pre-selected by Ethan Allen Hotel. Your essay may cover any topic including the love shared by you and your intended, the circumstances of your engagement or how winning the Dream Wedding Giveaway will give a great start to your married life. Entries must be in writing (typed entries are not required although legibility is important!) and delivered, either in person, by facsimile (203-748-0036) or by the U.S. Postal Service (Dream Wedding Giveaway, c/o: Ethan Allen Hotel, 21 Lake Avenue Ext., Danbury, CT 06811) to the Hotel on or before Midnight on March 31, 2010. Only one entry per couple will be accepted. All entries become the property of the Hotel and will not be returned to the entrant.
  2. The Hotel will be the sole judge of the entries received and the Hotel’s selection of the winner will be final. There will only be one winner and only one prize will be awarded. The Hotel reserves the right, prior to the acceptance of the prize by the winner, to cancel, change, alter or amend the Dream Wedding Giveaway in any way whatsoever. Entrants need not be advised of any such cancellation, change, alteration or amendment.
  3. The Hotel will select the winner on or before April 30, 2010, and announce the winner on Thursday, May 13, 2010. The winner may be required to sign a publicity release, and will be required to sign a catering contract and other agreements as the Hotel and the other wedding service providers may require in their sole discretion. The winner’s failure to sign such agreements as the Hotel and the other participants require will be a refusal of the entire winning prize. In such event the Hotel may, but need not, select another entrant for the award of the prize.
  4. The prize awarded to the winner will consist of:
    1. An On-Site wedding ceremony at the Hotel (optional) and / or Gold Package wedding reception at the Hotel for not more than one hundred fifty people. The wedding and reception menu shall be drawn from the Hotel’s then current catering offerings and be at a standard price of not more than $116.00 per person (excluding service charge and CT state sales tax).
    2. One night lodging at the Hotel in a VIP Bridal Suite for Bride & Groom, the evening of their wedding reception date.
    3. Hotel pre-selection/designation of Bridal Services to include Limousine, Florist, DJ Wedding Cake, Photographer and Invitations.
    4. The winner may increase the size of either the wedding reception by contracting with the Hotel for additional guests at the Hotel’s then current catering rates, not to exceed $116.00 plus applicable service charge and CT state sales tax. The winner may request additional nights lodging at the Ethan Allen Hotel on an “as available” basis at the then “best rate” generally available at the Hotel. The winner may contract for services in excess of the giveaway values indicated above for photography, a wedding cake, invitations, flowers and DJ entertainment services with the specific and pre-determined vendors by the Hotel. There shall be no refund, return or exchange of unused values and there shall be no substitution of prizes or cash value of the prize. All costs and expenses not specified herein (including but not limited to additional decorations, flowers and entertainment at any of the wedding ceremony and reception, additional photography and / or videography, the fees or charges of any officiate, and/or incidental charges at the Ethan Allen Hotel, meals, beverages and activities while at Ethan Allen Hotel and transportation to or from the Hotel) will be the sole responsibility of the winner and will be subject to the Hotel’s and other providers’ standard credit pricing standards and applicable fees.
  5. The Hotel and the winner will mutually agree upon the date for the wedding ceremony and/or reception. The wedding ceremony and/or reception shall occur within the same day. The dates available will be limited by existing reservations. In all circumstances, the wedding ceremony and reception shall be completed on or before June 30, 2011.
  6. Once agreed upon, the details (including but not limited to the dates, times, number of attendees and menu) of the wedding ceremony and/or reception shall be incorporated into a standard form of catering contract for equal liability purpose. The hotel and winner shall sign the catering agreement and all amendments and changes after signature shall be in accord with the Hotel’s standard terms, conditions and catering policies. Similarly, the winner shall execute standard form agreements with each of the other service providers and all amendments and changes after signature shall be in accord with each provider’s standard terms, conditions and policies.
  7. The Ethan Allen Hotel and the winner will mutually agree upon the date for both the wedding ceremony and/or reception, and VIP Bridal Suite for the stay at the hotel. The dates available will be limited by existing reservations. The night at the hotel must occur during the date of the wedding ceremony and/or reception and stay shall be completed on or before 12:00pm Noon on July 1, 2011.
  8. No purchase of goods or services is required to enter giveaway.
  9. The winner shall be responsible for all taxes and similar charges and expenses associated with the prize beyond giveaway terms & conditions. The estimated fair market value of the prize package is approximately $50,000.00.
  10. The winner agrees, by submission of an entry, to cooperate in publicizing the contest, including the capture by the Hotel of photographic images and audio and video recordings of any of the wedding ceremony and/or reception. All such photographs and recordings shall be the property of the Hotel and may be used by the Hotel in its sole discretion. Nothing contained in this paragraph shall prohibit or limit the winner’s recording or photographing of any of the wedding ceremony and/or reception at the winner’s cost and expense (including the services of Preferred/Designated Hotel Photography as contemplated herein).
  11. The winner and his or her intended spouse shall release and discharge the Ethan Allen Hotel, Ethan Allen, its parent and subsidiaries, and their current and former directors, offices, employees, agents, successors and assigns (collectively referred to as "Ethan Allen") and each of the designated preferred bridal vendors (collectively, the "Provider Parties") from and against any claim, charge or liability arising directly or indirectly from any of this contest and any dinner, wedding, reception or wedding services arising from this contest. The winner and his or her intended spouse shall indemnify and hold Ethan Allen and the Provider Parties harmless from and any and all claims or charges, including legal fees and other cost of defense, brought by any person (including but not limited to either the winner or his or her intended spouse and any guest or invitee to any of the wedding ceremony and/or reception) as a result of this contest or any of prizes awarded with respect thereto.
  12. All entrants must be over the age of twenty-one at the time of submission of the entry and each of the entrant and his or her intended spouse must be legally qualified to be married or similarly bound under the laws of the State of Connecticut. It is a condition of this contest that the wedding ceremony (optional) and/or reception must take place at the Ethan Allen Hotel, located at 21 Lake Avenue Extension in Danbury, Connecticut.
  13. Except as otherwise provided for herein, the contest, as well as the catering, lodging, and bridal services to be provided shall be governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut.
  14. The Hotel retains the right to alter or amend these rules at any time.
  15. No assignment, transfer, substitution or cash equivalent of the prize or any portion thereof will be permitted.
